It’s our daylong, indoor/outdoor, multicultural, interactive, family-friendly festival! A spectrum of MD-based performers, including doo-wop pioneers The Legendary Orioles, Appalachian and shout gospel groups, South African boot dancers, the awesome traditional Greek band Wolfpack, and salsa dancing with La Leyenda. Plus workshops and demos galore! Mexican yarn painting, Ukrainian egg decorating, Baltimore screen painting, duck decoy carving, quilting & much more. A blacksmith will have his forge fired up in front of The Patterson! To eat, have a taste of Smith Island 7 Layer Cake and other wonderful, distinctive Maryland food. Locally brewed beer, too!

Honky tonker Arty Hill explores his favorite standards from across the musical spectrum—pop, jazz, bluegrass, and more—in duets with and all-star cast of Baltimore singers and musicians. Backed up by the Long Gone Daddys, Arty plays short sets with John Shock and Paul Margolis (Stone Hill All-Stars, Polkats), world renowned pedal steel guitarist Susan Alcorn, jazz guitarist Michael Raitzyk, blue grassers Ed Hough, and Baltimore chanteuse and actress Mink Stole.

The second annual Veteran’s Day Celebration at the Creative Alliance by Highlandtown’s Veteran Artist Program includes a first time collaboration with Michael Beresh, composer and creator of Letters to Baltimore from the War. Mr. Beresh composes fresh songs based on the stories told by members of the cast of Telling: Baltimore, a play produced by VAP and The Telling Project, accompanied by the guitar talents of Jeff Hardwick and Marq-Paul LaRose, both VAP musicians from the 2010 Veteran’s Day show, Home. A stirring evening to consider war, peace, and remembering.

Michael Raitzyk Organ/ic Music Trio
Absolutely crushin jazz guitarist Michael Raitzyk does a tribute to all things organ with The Michael Raitzyk Organ/ic Music Trio featuring the acclaimed Greg Hatza on organ, and jazz musicians musician Mike Kuhl on drums. These Baltimore based musicians create a ferocious groove in the tradition of Jimmy Smith, Kenny Burrell & Grady Tate.
