Earl’s Place: Monkey’s On Our Back
Artwork by seventeen homeless men at Earl’s Place, a transitional housing program, reflects their hopes and humanity, along with the struggles and injustices they endure. The “monkey on our back” is a metaphor for the struggles or addictions we are burdened with, and is particularly poignant in the context of their step-by-step journey back to society as productive citizens. Several of the artists and their colleagues share stories at the opening.
